FAQ
Common questions before you begin
Answers about the Discovery Call, care options, labs, supplements, and how this practice approaches functional medicine.
What happens on the Discovery Call?
The Discovery Call is a brief first conversation about fit and direction. It helps determine whether the Foundational Assessment, Comprehensive Assessment, Renew, or another care option is the best next step.
Is the Discovery Call medical advice?
No. It is intended for general discussion and direction. Detailed medical advice, lab interpretation, and individualized recommendations happen after a clinical intake and review.
Do I need recent labs before reaching out?
No. Recent labs are helpful if you already have them, but they are not required before booking a Discovery Call.
How is testing handled?
Testing depends on the level of care. Foundational Assessment may include review of recently drawn outside labs. Comprehensive Assessment includes comprehensive bloodwork. Renew includes comprehensive bloodwork and initial functional testing selected based on your intake, symptoms, and clinical priorities.
Are supplements or additional testing included?
Supplements are recommended when appropriate and purchased separately. Patients receive access to professional-grade options and a Fullscript discount. Any additional or repeat testing beyond what is included in your assessment or program is discussed first and billed separately.
Do you accept insurance?
Reclaim & Renew is a cash-based practice and does not bill insurance. This allows more time for individualized care, thoughtful follow-through, and support that is not limited by insurance requirements.
What if I have already tried functional medicine?
This practice is especially relevant for patients whose prior plans felt too fast, too generic, or too much for their system. Care is paced around your history, current data, and how your body responds.
What if I am sensitive to supplements or protocols?
That matters. Care is paced based on how your body responds, especially for patients who are reactive, sensitive, depleted, or easily overwhelmed.
Is care available virtually?
Discovery Calls are typically virtual. In-person care is available in Cedar Falls, with virtual options used when clinically appropriate.
Will you offer additional therapies in the future?
Additional therapies may be added over time, but Reclaim & Renew is starting with assessment, lab-guided care, lifestyle and nutrition support, supplement planning, and structured follow-up. If services such as IV therapy, injections, or peptides become available, they will be discussed when clinically appropriate and billed separately.
Is Chelsey certified in functional medicine?
Yes. Chelsey is a Functional Medicine Academy Certified Practitioner (FMACP), a credential awarded after completing required coursework, case review, and testing. It’s a formal standard you can look for when choosing a provider.
Do I need to know which option is right before booking?
No. You do not need to decide that on your own. The Discovery Call is designed to help determine whether Foundational Assessment, Comprehensive Assessment, Renew, or another care option is the best next step based on your goals, readiness, and level of support needed.
